The U-FLI Board of Directors and the 2010 Tournament of Champions Committee would like to take this opportunity to say "Thank You" for helping make this year's Tournament of Champions, a huge success!

Now that the dust has settled, it is our pleasure to reflect on the accomplishments of the event.  Racing was close, good sportsmanship was shown by all, and every race was a challenge for those who played in our biggest event to date!

"Best Racing Ever!", "Incredible Facility!", "Can't Wait for Next Year!" - are just a few of the positive comments we have heard, in response to our 2010 Tournament of Champions event!

We never imagined a facility like the Purina Event Center.  It was made for events like ours, and it was truly so awesome to have the opportunity to hold our event there this year.  Brock Fitzgerald and Mary Fuller, both from Purina; welcomed us when we arrived, took care of any needs we had over the weekend, and were even there helping to clean up after the event on Sunday!

The Purina Event Center offered plenty of room for the three rings to be conveniently laid out side-by-side, in-door crating for all, wash stations, dog runs, stainless steel bathrooms, food on-site, great lighting, climate control,  lots of parking, RV camping and even open space for competitors and their dogs to run (if they had any extra energy left at the end of the day).

The championship racing was fun for all 44 Clubs who competed, and even the spectators enjoyed every nail-biting finish.  The seeding placed teams of equal ability into divisions that brought out everyone's best performance.  Intense yes, challenging yes, the best racing ever - absolutely!  Dogs and competitors alike gave it their all, and many races were decided by mere tenths of a second!  The 3 of 5 racing format made every heat count, and many of the races went to a breath-taking 5 heats!  Congratulations to all Clubs who competed!

Friday's Dream Teams, Singles and Pairs Championship, was a big hit again this year, with many of the competitors using the opportunity to 'warm-up' for the weekend.  Dream Teams gave people and dogs from all over the country a chance to get to know each other by competing together and racing as a team.  The Singles and Pairs round robin format was a fabulous way to see the best of the best prior to the actual championship racing on Saturday and Sunday.

The 'Meet Me in St. Louis' tournament, which ran simultaneously with the Tournament of champions, was great racing as well.  Many fine teams competed against each other in tight finishes to achieve their placements.  In addition, many of the teams in the regular tournament were Pickup Teams, one of U-FLI's ingenious creations since its inception.  Again, dogs and competitors from all over the country were able to compete and strive for their best.

The Head Judges for the event, Danielle Beauregard, Paul Ferlitto and Randy Kenzie seemed to never run out of patience all weekend, and there were many races to oversee.  All worked long days, and ended each with a friendly smile.  As the weekend progressed, many U-FLI Judges stepped in to spell the Head Judges.  They too showed their enthusiasm for the sport, and support of the event, by their good-natured and steady approach to judging the races.

We all know that good score keepers are one of the success secrets of a flyball tournament, and this event was no exception!  Cathie Kenzie, Nancy Whittington and Debbie Kumpf, kept the paperwork straight.  Many experienced people did step in over the weekend to assist in score keeping, and give our score keepers a break, and again, we thank you for your support.

Sunday morning Michael Borts, (from Sure Shots) sang the national anthem, and frankly, his talent awed us all!  It truly was another special moment that happened over the weekend, due to the tremendous support we received from everyone!  Thanks again, Michael!

Exhibitors too, were delighted to be a part of our event, and they too enjoyed the occasion, and positive atmosphere.  All are anxious to return next year where they can visit with competitors again, and sell their wares to the U-FLI flyball community.

To quote one of our competitors "it took a village of people" to execute an event of this magnitude; a group of people who were so dedicated to the success of the event, that we could not have done it without them.  Clearly all the work that went into the event is why things ran so smoothly over the three-day flyball extravaganza!

Our sincere thanks goes to the following individuals, teams and companies:
