2012 U-FLI Tournament of Champions Weekend

Welcome to the 2012 U-FLI Championship Weekend

and the Buffalo County Fairgrounds (3807 Avenue N in Kearney, Nebraska!

We are very excited to be hosting the 2012 U-FLI Championship and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

We have three full days of racing!  We will be using a 1 schedule, 2 ring format with the help of Flyball Geek for the event.  Annette Tindall will be our Pit Boss for Flyball Geek, please see her with any anticipated conflicts.  Please help us keep racing moving by being ready to enter the ring, notify the judge if you do have a conflict. 

Friday racing will consist of the "Dream Team Challenge" and the "Singles and Pairs Championship".  Saturday racing will start the U-FLI Championship which will continue through Sunday.  Saturday and Sunday we will also be hosting a regular tournament each day. 

Start times and racing format can be found on the schedule attached.

JUDGES:  Randy Kenzie (British Columbia) and Todd Morningstar (Michigan) will be our head judges, with relief from several judges who will be in attendance.  Thank you to all our judges in advance!

HEAD TABLES:  We are very lucky to have Val Rogalla and Cathy Kenzie running our head tables.  Both of these ladies are very experienced and will keep things moving.  Aaron Hughes from British Columbia has kindly brought his race counters, which will be of great help to the table and competitors as well.

VOLUNTEERS: We have non-flyball volunteers coming to help with box judging.  They are not able to judge for Championship races, but will fill in for box judges to get breaks.  If you have extra time and would like to judge, the line judges will not have local volunteers to relieve them so they would appreciate short breaks!

CRATING:  Crating will be assigned and you may set up Thursday after 6pm

CAMPING:  For those of you that are camping, the cost is 15.00 / night if you made your reservations with Stephanie Smith by the deadline.  Everyone else, camping is 20.00 / night.  Please be prepared to pay for your camping when you arrive Thursday, or as you pick up your timesheets Friday or Saturday morning.  All camping must be paid before racing starts on Saturday.  See Stephanie Smith, if you need additional information.  There is a dump station for campers and motor homes on the fairgrounds.  You can fill your tanks upon arrival as needed.  There is a shower building on site as well. 

T SHIRTS AND SWEATSHIRTS:  Shirts that were pre-ordered will be available Friday afternoon from 4:00-5:00pm and Saturday from 9:00-10:00am.   We will also have a limited number of shirts for sale during these times.

FOOD: 

  • § Breakfast and Lunch will be available all 3 days. You may also bring coolers, food, drinks, etc.
  • § Saturday Night Dinner: There will be a catered dinner Saturday following racing. If anyone that has not responded would like to join us for dinner, please see Kate Corum or email katecorum@gmail.com

RAFFLE:  The raffle is hosted by the local Humane Society.  If possible, please support the raffle by donating items or raffle baskets individually or by team, and of course by buying tickets! 

PRIZES:  Prizes will be awarded to all placements.

DREAM TEAMS AND PICKUP TEAMS:  In order for us to be able to assign your dog it's title points, is really important if it is on a Dream Team or Pickup Team, that you list the club it is registered with on the time-sheet (on the right-hand side next to the owner's name) when the team checks in.

Please make sure that all dogs and participants are registered with U-FLI prior to the Tournament.  Dogs and participants not registered will be ineligible to play.  In accordance with U-FLI Rules and Regulations, ALL dogs desiring to jump less than the maximum height of 12" are required to measure.  Only dogs that are at least one year of age and have a RUN are eligible to be measured.  Any dog that is not measured will default to the maximum jump height of 12".  If your dog has already measured at a U-FLI tournament, it need not measure again.  Please refer to the U-FLI Rules and Regulations for more information.  To obtain a copy of the rules please go to www.u-fli.com

Picking up after your dogs will help us show the community, we are the best dog owners ever!
